Howdy Pardners! Come on in and visit for a spell! |
|
Welcome to the Four Corners Gunslinger's Cowboy Action Shooting Club. We're glad you stopped in to pay a visit, we sure hope you find everything you're looking for while you're here. Let us know if you don't!
Our home range, the Durango Gun Club, sits above the scenic Animas River and is located in Durango, Colorado. If you are not familiar with the area, it's best to contact one of our pards and they'll get you lined out on getting to the range. Or if you are the adventurous type then click on Directions to the Range and meet us on the hill!
2009 brings another year of cowboy action shooting to the Four Corners area. We will continue introducing new folks to our sport, enjoying our 2nd Amendment rights. More emphasis will be put on safety, RO classes and “having fun.” After all, that is the cowboy way!

Club History.....
The Durango Kid introduced CAS to our area early in 1990. He was part of the original Wild Bunch and holds the SASS number 8. In the early days of SASS there were about 10 categories, today there are over 25. The SASS badges show member numbers over 80,000.
In early fall of 1996 18 Cowboys/girls gathered at the old Lori’s restaurant in Durango to discuss putting together a SASS sanctioned Cowboy Action Shooting club. Within 20 minutes club officers were “appointed” a club name selected and we were ready to have fun.
The first president was Wicked Felina, VP 2-Lazy-2, Sec/Treas. Camptown Lady, Match Director, Ruff Cobb & Step ½. Scores were ranked (by Wicked & Camptown) no computer at that time, and the ladies brought an after shoot meal. The second year we had 2 shoots a month, same match directors and the club doubled in size. Third year we went back to one match a month, membership increased to nearly 60 members, and Cerveza Slim built props for the range.
On a local level, our club has celebrated the over-all world championship winners: Durango Kid, 1990; Evil Roy, 2001; Holy Terror, ladies overall, 10 years in a row. Class winners: Ruff Cobb, Sr. Duelist 4 years, Ramblin Rose, Sr. Ladies, 3 years and Young gun, world champion Buckaroo in 2009! Our club members have been in the winner's circle at Winter Range and End of Trail many times. As we applaud these folks, we also applaud our club members who represent our sport in a positive manner and have the Spirit of the Game attitude. |
